The Statistics paragraph allows you to display a collection of data points (Collection Items) in a responsive grid. Like the Link List, these items automatically arrange themselves to fit the screen, ensuring your data looks professional on everything from large monitors to mobile devices.
Structure of a Statistic
A Statistics section is built using a main container that houses individual statistic items.
- Headline: This is the primary title for the entire statistics section (e.g., "Our Impact" or "By the Numbers").
- Collection Items: These are the individual "stat blocks." You can add multiple items to a single paragraph to create a comparison or a data set.
Configuring Individual Statistics
When you add or edit a statistic within the collection, you will find the following fields:
- Title: This is the large, primary number or word that acts as the focal point (e.g., "10", "34%", or "No. 1"). This value is automatically passed to the Headline field within the "Headline group."
- Subhead: A short label that appears directly under the main number (e.g., "National Ranking" or "Average Class Size").
- Description: A brief sentence or phrase that provides further context for the statistic. This field supports basic HTML tags like links, emphasis, and bolding to help guide the reader.
Layout Styles
The UK Web Platform offers flexibility in how these statistics are visually presented to the user. Depending on the settings applied to the section, statistics can appear in different styles:
- Clean Grid: Statistics are separated by subtle vertical lines with the text centered, creating a light and airy feel.
- Featured Blocks: Statistics are placed inside solid color blocks (such as the university’s signature blue) with high-contrast white text, making them stand out as high-priority callouts.
