University-wide Navigation

A carousel is a dynamic and interactive component that allows you to showcase multiple images or media files in a visually appealing slideshow format. Within the University of Kentucky Web Platform, the Carousel paragraph type offers a powerful way to present content in an engaging manner.

Each slide within the carousel can feature an image, accompanied by descriptive text or captions to provide context. The carousel allows you to display a series of content pieces in a compact and interactive manner, enabling users to navigate through the slides manually or automatically.

Pros:

  • Image carousels can showcase a large number of images in a small amount of space.
  • Image carousels can be used to rotate through different messages or promotions.

Cons:

  • Image carousels can be difficult for visitors to navigate, and are often skipped over when scanning the page.
  • They can be distracting, and they can draw attention away from other important content on the page.
  • They can be overwhelming and cause a greater cognitive load for users.
  • If not used correctly, they can often hide information that your users are looking for.

To add a Carousel Paragraph to a page select "Add Carousel" in the Top, Middle, or Bottom paragraph section.
