The Media (full-width) paragraph type allows you to embed a single, large-scale media item. It is built to handle various media formats seamlessly, ensuring that whether you are using an image or a video, the content remains responsive and professionally formatted within the UK Web Platform.
Types of Media Supported
You can select one media item per paragraph from the following categories:
- Uploaded Images: High-quality photos or graphics uploaded directly to the site's media library.
- Hosted Videos: Videos hosted on external platforms like YouTube or Vimeo. When using hosted videos, you do not need to worry about complex embed codes. You simply provide the video title and the link to the video page on that platform, and the UK Web Platform handles the embedding plugin automatically.
Configuration Fields
The editor provides specific fields to help provide context and accessibility for your media:
- Select Media: This button opens the media library, where you can either upload a new file or paste the URL for a YouTube/Vimeo video.
- Title: This is a required field that serves as the title of the paragraph. It is often used for administrative tracking and accessibility.
- Caption: A rich text area located below the media. You can use this to provide a description, credit the photographer, or add further context to the video.
- Hide Heading Toggle: If you do not want the title to appear as a visible figure caption on the front end, you can enable this switch to suppress it.
