Drupal 7 End-of-life

Drupal 7, released in 2011, is approaching end-of-life. This means it's time to migrate the university's Drupal 7 websites to the current version, Drupal 9. While some of this migration may be automated, there will be manual steps that most website managers will need to take to get their sites ready to publish in Drupal 9.

Web Communications Drupal Subscribers

If your site is on Web Communications hosting, you should be receiving communication about automatic migration, as well as a class offering to assist you and your team in making the switch to Drupal 9. For most centrally-hosted Drupal 7 sites, this process will take place through the summer, and will be required to be completed by November 2022.

If you manage a site that is hosted with the Web Communications team, but have not been contacted, request a consultation here.

If you manage a college-level or other large site, you may also be contacted about additional resource planning to move your site to the university web platform. These larger sites will require additional technical work, and will have a required transition date some time before November 2023.

Other Sites

If your site isn't hosted with Web Communications, contact your web administrator about Drupal 7 migration. Many units are already in progress of have completed this transition.
